Job Purpose The Entry-Level Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining internal tools using Ruby on Rails. This role will also involve data engineering tasks and internal process automation. Beyond software engineering, the ideal candidate will work closely with the business, acting as a product owner for the software they develop. Pay Rate/Range: $70,000-85,000 Pay Frequency: Biweekly Bonus Eligible: Yes Work Location: Minneapolis HQ & Innovation Center Travel: None The compensation for this role will be based on qualifications, experience, market data, and internal equity. Actual pay may vary due to factors such as location, skills, education, and performance. Pay is determined transparently, using market benchmarks and ensuring internal equity. Responsibilities Develop and maintain internal tools using Ruby on Rails. Perform data engineering tasks, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL). Automate internal processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual work. Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure the software meets their needs. Act as a product owner for the software developed, ensuring it aligns with business goals and objectives. Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of coding standards and best practices. Deliverables Within 3 months, be familiar with existing codebase and make improvements requested by the business. Within 9 months, write a customer facing application that has basic functionality (retrieve invoices, places new order, find documents) Write production code with consistent deployments Actively use unit testing to ensure bugs are not recurring Requirements Entry-Level Experience as a software engineer Have a foundation in modern coding practices from which you are ready to contribute from and ready to grow upon Ruby on Rails or similar technologies Benefits: At PURIS, we’re proud to support our team with a comprehensive benefits package designed to help you thrive both personally and professionally.
