What you’ll do 

• Build and scale high-performance backend systems in Rust that power Bitpanda’s trading and pricing infrastructure
• Develop microservices and internal tooling using Python across a distributed systems environment
• Design clean, reliable, and maintainable solutions within an event-driven architecture
• Work on real-time systems handling market data, pricing, hedging, and asset management across multiple asset classes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system scalability, reliability, and performance

Who you are

• 4+ years of backend engineering experience building scalable, production-grade systems
• Strong hands-on experience with Rust, plus solid working knowledge of Python
• Experience with distributed systems, asynchronous programming, and event-driven architectures
• Familiarity with REST APIs, websockets, relational and/or NoSQL databases, and messaging systems such as Kafka or ZeroMQ
• Bonus points if you have experience with AWS, trading platforms, market data systems, or an interest in crypto and financial markets
