Description:
The software engineer candidate will join the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Platform (RHEL) Storage team; responsible for providing a comprehensive storage stack for this premier, enterprise Linux distribution. The work will cover existing and emerging storage technologies through joint participation with storage vendors and broader community members.
What will you do
- Updating RHEL storage subsystems to closely align with emerging functionality
- Contribute functional enhancements and bug fixes to the broader Linux community on behalf of partner requests
- Work directly with partners and customers to resolve issues in the RHEL storage subsystem
- Participate in partner roadmap sessions and map partner requirements to development plans
- Contribute to enhancing continuous integration (CI) testing.
What will you bring
- Proficiency in C is a plus
- Familiarity with Linux, Bash, and Python a plus
- Familiarity with Linux upstream development a plus
- Interest in learning Linux kernel storage drivers and storage protocols (NVMe, SCSI, SATA, NVMeoF, and other Storage Area Network technologies)
- Ability to engage with remote organizations to jointly establish root cause of issues encountered in the field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
