We are looking for a skilled Ruby on Rails Software Engineer to join a collaborative, remote-first team that builds scalable digital platforms for a diverse range of clients. In this role, you will contribute to platform frameworks and APIs that support multiple products, enabling clients across industries to streamline operations and launch innovative solutions. You will work in a cross-functional squad of engineers, designers, and project managers, providing input on feasibility, planning, and implementation of features. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, code quality, and scalability, while giving you the opportunity to directly impact production environments. Accountabilities: Build and maintain robust, scalable backend frameworks and APIs using Ruby on Rails. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, estimate, and implement new features. Conduct research and feasibility checks to guide feature development and provide alternative solutions when necessary. Develop platform components such as file exports, rate limiting, and other shared libraries distributed across multiple client platforms. Ensure code quality, maintainability, and consistency through well-documented pull requests, structured JIRA tickets, and adherence to best practices. Participate in team retrospectives, identifying issues and proposing solutions for continuous improvement. Deploy applications to staging and production environments using automated CI/CD pipelines. Strong expertise in Ruby on Rails and backend development, including database design and optimization. Experience building and maintaining GraphQL and REST APIs. Knowledge of backend system components, including app servers, databases, and caching strategies. Experience with deploying applications to production using automated tools such as GitHub Actions. Ability to work remotely with exceptional communication and collaboration skills. Resourceful, proactive, and able to independently identify and solve problems. Experience contributing to open-source projects or developer tools is a plus. Organized and structured, with attention to detail in code, documentation, and project tracking.
