The role:

Being a Software Engineer in the Web category requires both in-depth technical knowledge and a willingness to build up expert knowledge in this field. 

As a core component of our Security Solution Edge solution, we offer our customers the best web classification to protect their assets and end users from cyberattacks during their daily work. The task consists of

• Development and maintenance of automation processes for the collection of intelligence data, quality assurance, and regular delivery of results.
• Establishing continuous quality assurance of external and internal intelligence feeds and close cooperation with third-party providers.
• Development of metrics that demonstrate the success of our solution and identify  potential for improvement .
• Providing expert support for automated content classification to product management and technical support teams on individual customer projects .
• Implementation of customer feedback and change requests. 
• Harmonization of web classification across the entire on-premise and cloud product portfolio .
• Identifying valuable external feeds to enrich Skyhigh Security's data inventory, in order to better support customers in designing their security and compliance policies .
• Implementation of customer-specific requirements at the product level.

What you need for the role: 

• Python expert: Strong practical experience with Python is required, especially in using libraries for web requests, data parsing, and API integration. Knowledge of Perl and C++ is a plus.
• Knowledge of web technologies: Very good understanding of how the web works (HTTP, DNS, WHOIS, DOM structure, SSL/TLS certificates).
• Experience in Threat Intelligence: Experience with common threat feeds (e.g., VirusTotal, Cisco Umbrella, AlienVault) is an advantage.
• Communication: A customer-oriented approach to collaborating with technical support, customers, and vendors to clarify differing interpretations of our categorization and to identify solutions. Strong negotiation skills are essential for agreeing on uniform quality standards with our data providers.
• Networking: The ability to build viable relationships with external data providers.
• Autonomy: A strong hands-on mentality to independently research and implement the best tools for this task,  as well as a high degree of self-motivation, are essential for this role.
• Language skills: Fluent English, both spoken and written, is a must in our company with globally distributed locations and an international customer base.
