The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineer – Test & Verification (Associate or Experienced) to support our P-8A Mission Systems Software team located in Kent, Washington. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Services (BDS) business organization.
As a Software Test Engineer, you will work with a team in a casual but professional environment where there is long term potential for career growth. The optimal candidate works well with a team, has great communication skills, and is a self-starter. The selected team member enjoys working collaboratively with others, has a commitment to customer satisfaction and process improvement, and is successful working in a multi-contract environment.
Additionally, the software test engineer will conduct (with the possibility to lead) the testing of solutions to a wide range of complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation. This is a challenging and exciting opportunity supporting software verification in multiple areas such as sensors, communications, network, and weapons. Systems. This software supports both domestic and international customers and is developed using the Agile software process.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Familiarity or experience with Agile software development Experience using team collaboration tools including Git, JIRA, Confluence, Artifactory, etc.
  • Experience with software/hardware testing
  • Knowledge of mission systems
  • Ability to establish test requirements from supporting documentation, test plans, internal and external customers
Responsibilities
  • Designs, develops, and completes test and verification of software products to ensure quality, reliability, and functionality
  • Partners with stakeholders to review and identify software requirements, test objectives, test strategies, and testability
  • Designs test plans, cases, and scenarios to meet software requirements and specifications
  • Sets up and configures test environments, including hardware, software, and network configurations to replicate production environments
  • Executes test cases and scenarios to verify functionality, performance, and safety of software systems, identifying and reporting defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities found during testing processes
  • Provides test results and feedback on software design and functionality to resolve defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities
  • Creates, documents, and maintains test plans, procedures, cases, artifacts, metrics, and data in accordance with data privacy and security protocols and standards
  • Develops and maintains automated test scripts and frameworks to improve efficiency and effectiveness of testing processes
  • Performs software project management functions across test and verification activities involving multifunctional teams
