Job Description:
Torch Technologies, a 100% Employee-owned company, is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to support software testing activities for the Ground Vehicle System Center (GVSC) at Detroit Arsenal located in Warren, MI. Selected applicant will provide support to government labs including compiling/loading software test cases in a Hardware-in-the-Loop system, developing test automation, and Build Pipeline support. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment. A well-suited applicant will be a self-motivated individual capable of working independently and within a multi-disciplinary team with contractors and government employees. They must also possess good oral and written communication skills. Candidate will sit on site within the customer space at Detroit Arsenal – Warren, MI or within the Torch Technologies Office in Sterling Heights, MI. Experience working with automotive Hardware-in-the-Loop frameworks including within the DoD is a plus but not required.
Job Requirements:

Qualified candidates will need to have direct experience with the following:

  • Experience working with both hardware and software systems.
  • Broad Experience with Software Repositories (Zephyr Repository is ideal).
  • Hardware-in-the-Loo (HIL) test automation.
  • Vehicle Simulation Programming Experience (CAN, CAPL).
  • Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
  • Supporting software development pipelines and compiling/loading software test cases.
  • C++, Python, Agile software development.

Qualified candidates will have an interest or experience in one of the following areas:

  • Working with team-based Software Development and Configuration Management Tools (Git, TFS, JIRA, etc.).
  • Hardware and Software Integration.
  • Hardware interface testing.
  • Oversight of the software design process.
  • Re-engineering, T&E, or related experience with DoD Ground and weapon platforms is a plus.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other technical discipline is required. Relevant graduate degrees will be given preference.
  • 5 years of direct Object-Oriented and/or vehicle simulation programming experience.
  • Experience developing applications with object-oriented languages.
  • Previous experience in a Software-in the-Loop or Hardware-in-the-loop lab will be given preference.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
