JOB TITLE: SOFTWARE ENGINEER Location: Plano, TX Company: Benefit Harbor POSITION OVERVIEW Benefit Harbor is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise applications that power our benefits technology solutions. This role will contribute throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), partnering with technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain software applications. * Participate in application architecture, design, and product development discussions. * Analyze business and operational requirements to create effective technology solutions. * Resolve application defects and improve existing systems. * Develop technical documentation and support materials. * Provide application support, training, and technical guidance to users. * Follow software security best practices and development standards. * Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Technology teams to deliver solutions. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with 2+ years of experience, or master’s degree with 1+ year of experience. * Experience with Java web development and enterprise applications. * Strong understanding of SDLC processes. * Experience with: Development: * Java, J2EE, Servlets, JSP, JDBC, RMI, EJB * SOAP/REST Web Services * HTML, JavaScript, CSS, jQuery, AJAX Database & Integration: * SQL (DDL/DML), Oracle SQL * XML technologies (DOM, SAX, JAXB, XSLT) Tools: * SVN, CVS, or similar configuration management tools
