Description

Location: Romulus, Michigan
Job Type: Full-time, On-site
About Us:
We are a growing company in the home improvement industry with an established WooCommerce website. Our site is fully built, but we are looking for someone to continuously improve it, optimize the customer experience, and help us streamline operations like shipping and pricing.
Position Overview:
We’re seeking a Software Engineer to join our team in-person. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving our WooCommerce website, implementing new features, troubleshooting issues, and helping us figure out practical solutions beyond just coding (such as shipping workflows and pricing structures).
This is a hands-on role where you’ll wear multiple hats, working closely with our leadership team to make our online store run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, update, and continuously improve our WooCommerce website
  • Implement custom functionality and optimize site performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly
  • Assist with setting up and improving shipping processes and pricing logic
  • Be able to work alone
  • Stay up-to-date with WooCommerce/WordPress best practices and plugin.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience with WooCommerce and WordPress (theme customization, plugin management, PHP, JavaScript, CSS)
  • Knowledge of e-commerce operations, checkout processes, and payment integrations
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to “figure things out” beyond just coding
  • Experience troubleshooting technical and operational challenges
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Must be available to work on-site (in-person only)

Bonus Skills (Preferred but not required):

  • Experience with SEO optimization
  • Familiarity with shipping integrations (UPS, FedEx, Freight, etc.)
  • Knowledge of databases (MySQL) and server management
  • Experience with WooCommerce automation and scaling

Benefits:

  • Competitive pay (DOE) based on results
  • Growth opportunities in a fast-scaling company
  • Hands-on experience in both tech and business operations
  • Collaborative, supportive work environment

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
