Description
We’re Hiring: Software Engineering Intern Based in Quito, Ecuador | Hybrid About Us Industry FinTech (IFT) is on a mission to modernize how private capital markets operate. Our technology powers how firms raise capital, engage investors, and manage operations with transparency, efficiency, and compliance. We’re headquartered in Miami with a growing team in Quito, partnering with U.S. private equity firms and investment groups. As we scale our internal platform, we are looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join our development team. The Role We are looking for a Software Engineering Intern to work alongside our Principal Engineer, helping build and maintain the technical backbone of IFT. You won't just be watching—you’ll be coding, documenting architecture, and solving real-world integration challenges. This is an ideal position for a student in their final semesters who has worked with Clean Code, loves Python, and wants to complete their university internship hours in a fast-paced, international environment. What You’ll Do Development & Integration Participate in the design and testing of backend services and UI interfaces for our integration platform. Help migrate and modernize automation workflows into versioned, testable services. Contribute to building integration connectors for external tools (CRMs, communication platforms, etc.). Engineering Standards Join code reviews and learn to follow high-level engineering standards. Help maintain technical documentation, including ADRs (Architecture Decision Records) and service catalogs. Support the configuration of development environments and CI/CD pipelines. Thesis Research We provide Thesis Tracks to help you align your internship hours with your graduation requirements. What We’re Looking For Must-Haves: Currently enrolled in the final semesters or thesis level of Software Engineering, Computer Science, or IT. (Must be eligible for academic credit/hours). Fluency in technical English is essential — reading documentation and communication is a daily requirement. Intermediate Python (FastAPI/Flask) + SQL (PostgreSQL) and basic-to-intermediate Frontend (JS/TS + any modern framework). Solid foundations in Data Structures, OOP, SOLID, and Clean Code. Proficiency with Git, Docker, and Linux/Terminal environments. Ability to write unit tests and a "debug-ready" mindset. Bonus Points For: Familiarity with Web Security (OWASP) or CI/CD (GitHub Actions). Experience with Automation tools (n8n, Zapier) or Third-party APIs. A genuine interest in FinTech and AI/LLMs. What You’ll Get Validation of mandatory pre-professional internship hours. Direct training from senior engineers in a global fintech environment. Access to real-world data and expert feedback for your graduation project. Daily shifts designed to respect your university classes and exams. Top-performing interns are our first choice for full-time Junior roles upon graduation. Ready to Join the IFT Team? We’d love to hear from you!
