We enable every lottery product, transaction and customer experience across Australia. As a Software Engineering Lead, you’ll play a critical role in shaping and delivering the Core Gaming System. You’ll balance hands-on development with people leadership to ensure high-quality, reliable and scalable systems that operate at the centre of our business. What you’ll do  * Lead the design and delivery of core, transaction-critical systems * Contribute directly to the codebase while guiding engineering outcomes * Drive engineering standards, patterns and quality across the team * Manage and develop a team of engineers, supporting performance and growth * Act as the escalation point for complex, high-impact technical challenges * Ensure systems meet strict requirements for reliability, security and compliance * Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions * Balance delivery speed with risk, system integrity and operational stability What you’ll bring  * Strong hands-on experience in C++ development and Microsoft SQL Server * Proven track record delivering high-reliability, transaction-intensive systems * Deep understanding of data integrity, consistency and fault tolerance * Experience leading engineers around performance, coaching and capability uplift * Expertise in modern engineering practices (automation, CI/CD, observability) * Strong problem-solving and stakeholder engagement capability * Experience in regulated or complex environments (highly regarded) What you’ll get Not only will you receive an awesome candidate experience from our caring Talent team, but you’ll get a genuine feel for who we are and what it’s like to be part of our team.
