We need your talent, motivation, and vision as a Software Engineering Lead to join our Long Island team.
We are seeking an engaged software leader with strong technical and leadership skills who is capable of leading mid to large size software projects, is passionate about the craft of software engineering, has a desire to mentor new engineers, and who can partner with other engineering disciplines to create a supportive team environment.

The responsibilities of this position include:

• Technical execution of all phases of software development from requirements to test and integration
• Leading a software team in an Agile development environment
• Program planning including Integrated Master Schedule and budget development
• Management of the software effort for cost and schedule (including Cost Account Manager responsibilities)
• Working with the program team including program management, engineering management and other disciplines to ensure success
• Performing estimates and participating in proposals for future business
• Participating in staffing and hiring decisions

Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

• Must be eligible and able to obtain a Secret security clearance
• 10+ years of experience and minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other Scientific degree with strong software engineering content
• Demonstrated ability in all phases of software embedded development
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Software project management experience including scheduling, budgeting, cost account management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

• Experience in Air Worthiness certification programs following DO-178C software processes
• Experience in Ada and C++ software languages
• Experience with Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) technology
