As an engineering manager, you will collaborate with internal product and platform teams, as well as the open-source community, to design and deliver impactful solutions across the Visual Studio family of products, including Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, and related developer tooling. You will have meaningful influence over technical direction, execution, and team growth, helping drive the evolution of AI-assisted developer experiences that empower millions of engineers worldwide. Responsibilities Lead and inspire a team of engineers delivering AI-enabled capabilities across .NET and the Visual Studio family, while maintaining and modernizing existing codebases. Drive delivery from planning through production, balancing new feature development with maintenance, quality, and operational reliability. Hire, coach, and develop engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement. Partner with product, design, and platform teams, as well as the open-source community, to align technical solutions with developer needs. Translate developer and customer feedback into actionable improvements that measurably increase productivity and satisfaction. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills. Proficiency in programming languages like C++, C#, Java, or similar. Experience in management or team leadership roles, demonstrating the ability to lead and influence across teams. Preferred Experience Familiarity with .NET Core, C#, and ASP.NET Core. Experience in maintaining open-source projects. Experience in creating efficient engineering teams.
