Description
Apple Cloud Infrastructure team builds and operates large-scale platform services that power Apple's hybrid cloud environment. We are a fast-moving team at the forefront of crafting Apple's cloud infrastructure, delivering a seamless, secure, and reliable foundation for Apple's services including iCloud, iTunes, Siri, and Maps. We are seeking a seasoned and collaborative Engineering Manager for Partner Integrations to lead cross-functional partnerships and drive the quality and automation strategies that underpin our cloud platform delivery. DESCRIPTION As the Integration Engineering Manager, you will serve as the central coordination point between Apple's platform engineering teams — including Compute, Kubernetes, Application Security, and Service Mesh — and the broader engineering organization. You will ensure that partner team integrations are well-defined, properly governed, and delivered with the highest standards of reliability and quality. You will own the full lifecycle of partner integration engagements: from initial scoping and API/contract definitions through delivery, validation, and production rollout. You will also be responsible for building and maturing release automation pipelines and quality engineering practices that span these integrations. We are looking for an engineering leader who thrives in ambiguous, cross-organizational environments, brings strong technical judgment, and is passionate about creating repeatable, scalable processes that enable engineering teams to move faster and safer. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 8 years of hands-on experience in software development. 5 years of experience in a technical leadership or engineering management role with people management responsibilities. Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional integration programs involving multiple partner engineering teams. Proven track record working with infrastructure or platform teams in areas such as Compute, container orchestration (Kubernetes) or networking. Strong understanding of integration patterns, API design, and distributed systems. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and quality engineering practices. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with Kubernetes, Open Stack, service mesh technologies (e.g., Envoy, Istio, Linkerd) and their integration into platform ecosystems. Broad experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures. Experience building or scaling quality engineering functions including automated integration testing, chaos engineering, or contract testing frameworks. Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to drive alignment across technical and non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, meet aggressive deadlines, and drive complex cross-team initiatives to completion. Experience with infrastructure-as-code and platform automation tooling.
Responsibilities
The manager will serve as the central coordination point for partner integrations across platform engineering teams, ensuring definitions, governance, reliability, and quality standards are met for all engagements. This role also involves owning the full lifecycle of these integrations, from scoping through rollout, while building and maturing release automation and quality engineering practices.
