Institutional Securities Technology division of Technology develops enterprise systems for Morgan Stanley's OpsTech Group business spanning investment banking/capital markets, research, Institutional trading across all markets and all asset classes including complex derivatives, prime brokerage, fund services and other funding/finance businesses. OpsTech - Confirms This Java developer position is to extend our strategic multi-product applications, covering Cash and OTC Derivatives, Confirmation and Legal Notice creation. The candidate will be involved in the entire development lifecycle from system definition to deployment. The Confirmations group is a diverse global team of motivated technologists with experience in building scalable distributed systems. Applications in our group are distributed globally and range from high-throughput low-complexity to low-throughput high-complexity workflows. Current members of the team are skilled in Java, JavaScript, C#, Python, Linux, Thunderhead/Smart DX, database design, web interface, and agile development techniques.? The OTC Core Infrastructure Squad is a specialized squad focused on cross-cutting concerns such as modernizing applications, including large-scale refactors, DevOps, and Security. Role Strong technologist with passion for high quality engineering and problem solving. Part of collaborative agile development team to develop functionality in an iterative fashion liaising with the business analysts, product owners and other developers in the scrum team Part of a dynamic team building systems that are critical to the business. Solving problems to meet the ever-changing regulatory environment Responsible for continuously improving the quality of our system and codebase including code reviews and refactoring where necessary. Skills Required Experience of agile and scrum methodologies. Java J2EE. Unix shell scripting. SQL and Relational Databases such as DB2. Thunderhead/Smart DX Integration technologies - MQ/Xml/SOAP/JSON/Protocol Buffers/Spring. Enterprise Architecture Patterns, GoF design Build & agile - Ant, Gradle/Maven, Sonar, Jenkins/Hudson, GIT/perforce. Sound understanding of Object Oriented Analysis, Design and Programming. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Desired Skills Experience in banking and regulatory reporting. Knowledge of financial products, trade lifecycle etc. Domain driven design and micro-services experience n, Sonar, Jenkins/Hudson, GIT/perforce.
