In support of our business units, Mission Engineering, Advisory and Technical Services, and Team Downer as the prime Major Service Provider (MSP), we deliver above the line consulting services and Integrated Work Packages across the Department of Defence, including groups (Defence Digital Group (DDG), Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG), the services (Navy, Army and Air Force).

We are seeking to connect with Software Engineers ideally with Battle Management and Land Systems experience.

If successful in securing a role, your work may involve:

  • Design, develop, and implement battle management software solutions tailored to land domain operations.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, defence personnel, and engineering teams to ensure alignment with operational requirements.
  • Conduct system integration, testing, and validation to ensure software reliability in mission-critical environments.
  • Apply secure coding practices to meet defence industry security standards and compliance.
  • Contribute to the architecture and development of scalable, high-performance battle management software solutions.

Our work is highly complex and confidential , applicants must be Australian citizens with a minimum NV1 security clearance. Additionally, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may be necessary. In some cases, this may impose restrictions on individuals with dual nationality, permanent residency, or former nationality of specific countries as outlined in ITAR 126.1.

We are seeking candidates with defence industry experience in the follow areas:

  • Strong experience software engineering for battle management systems (BMS) within the land domain and Defence, government, or professional services.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications and a strong background in software development using languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
  • Knowledge of real-time software development and distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with Defence-specific systems, protocols, and architectures.
  • Experience with secure software development methodologies in defence environments.
