Software/FPGA Engineer/Physicist: We are an Ithaca, NY based startup revolutionizing scientific imaging with ultra-high speed, wide field, single photon imaging. Our systems provide continuous imaging at over 20 GBytes/sec and enable real time processing and inference in FPGA/GPU hardware. We seek a highly motivated software engineer/physicist to join our team. As a startup, we wear many hats, but your primary responsibilities will be developing a host GPU enabled application GUI and embedded development on FPGAs, GPUs, and embedded cores. Once the system is running, lab testing and characterization of wide field photon counting imaging sensors, and application development, will commence. The most critical requirement is the eagerness to push the forefront of high speed imaging applications in a small, highly self-driven environment. Requirements: C/C++ and Python expertise, low level hardware programming. High speed data acquisition and performant software. Image sensor/image processing understanding and experience. Ability to develop extendable architecture for future development. Linux and Windows.
Strongly desired: FPGA experience (Verilog/VHDL/HLS), PCIe, image processing, algorithm development and implementation, photonic instrumentation characterization, embedded Machine Learning and inference, CUDA experience, Quantum sensing, biological imaging microscopy (FLIM, RAMAN, single molecule imaging, etc.).
Nice to have: SolidWorks, mechanical electro-optical experience, thermal modeling, vacuum design experience, hardware design, PCB design and layout, optical design, laser expertise, microscopy techniques.
