JOB SUMMARY

Manages and processes software license data analyzing contracts, and ensuring compliance with licensing agreements. Analyzes purchased licenses, reviews discovery data, processes and maintains software and tracks reporting, and conducts research to assist with purchases and contract requirements. Verifies usage and advises purchases based on needs. Establishes processes for enhancing the coordination of software licensing data.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

One year of experience working with operating system management and databases and preparing documentation, reports, and maintaining accurate records.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders including legal counsel, management, vendors, and government regulators
  • Analytical ability

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills

  • Proficiency using word processing and spreadsheet software programs

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Experience working with software license management tools such as ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, Landesk and/or Flexera Software
  • Knowledge of software vendor licensing rules and terms including Microsoft, Adobe, IBM, and Novell
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library certification (ITIL)
Responsibilities
  • Analyzes contracts and extracts key licensing terms and conditions, licensing metrics, limitations of use, and reporting requirements.
  • Inputs extracted contract data into data repository.
  • Searches purchase orders associated with the software contract and products.
  • Conducts research and analyzes data related to purchased licenses.
  • Researches and assists with contract requirements and purchases.
  • Maintains internal license repository software.
  • Verifies usage.
  • Advises on purchases based on needs.
  • Manages application licenses and optimizes software.
  • Ensures Synovus is in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to the use of licensed materials.
  • Communicates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that licenses are obtained in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Evaluates potential licensing models for cost and determines optimal license utilization models.
  • Trains users on how to utilize internal license repository software.
  • Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
