POSITION SUMMARY:

We?re looking for a hands-on technical lead / software architect to guide a small development team through architectural improvements, hands-on development, and technical leadership on a vital web-based application. This role is perfect for someone who excels in solving complex technical challenges, leading and improving engineers, innovating, and helping improve our Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
You?ll be responsible for assessing our current application, making suggestions for improvement, and implementing your suggestions. You?ll also ensure best practices in application development, while guiding and mentoring Engineers from around the globe. While you won?t be managing people directly, you?ll be the technical backbone of the team, helping to drive execution and ensure high-quality delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Architectural Decisions: Define and implement software architecture best practices, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Hands-On Development: Write high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code while guiding the team through implementation.
  • Mentor & Guide Developers: Act as a technical mentor, conduct code reviews, and provide expertise to upskill the team.
  • Refactor & Modernize Systems: Identify technical debt and lead efforts to improve and optimize existing applications.
  • Ensure Code Quality & Best Practices: Champion best practices for coding, testing, branching, and deployment to improve system reliability and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and leadership to align technical solutions with business needs.
  • Solve Complex Technical Challenges: Be the go-to person for debugging, optimizing, and troubleshooting critical technical issues.
  • Champion SDLC & Agile Practices: Work with senior leaders to assess the team’s current development process and implement improvements to ensure efficiency, predictability, and high-quality output.
