JOB SUMMARY:

The State Auditor’s Office (SAO) is seeking an experienced Software Programmer/Developer to join our team. The Software Programmer/Developer will be responsible for analyzing complex business problems and developing (Microsoft-centric) technical solutions to fit the SAO’s needs. The position also involves supporting and troubleshooting existing systems. Works under minimal to limited direction with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited 4-year college or university (copy of transcript required).
  • 2 to 5+ years of experience as a software programmer/developer with a proven track record of successful system design and implementation in a Microsoft-centric environment.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks including C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, Microsoft Blazor and Razor pages, Bootstrap, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery.
  • Proficiency in system analysis methodologies and project management practices.
  • Proficiency in SQL, with experience working with relational databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server, and knowledge of object-relational mappings such as Entity Framework.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with RESTful API development and integration.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure.
  • Understanding of Texas state government.
