Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager, the Software QA Automation Engineer is responsible for designing and executing automated tests, testing web and mobile software applications to ensure they meet quality standards, are free of defects and meet performance requirements. You will collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, design test cases, execute automated / manual tests, and report issues. You will work on mission critical software that is leveraged by water facilities to ensure water quality around the world!
This position is part of the Digital Product Development team located in the US and will be remote.

THE ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor’s in computer science or computer engineering or similar experience
  • Working knowledge of coding in C# using .NET
  • 3+ years experience in a Software Tester or QA Engineer in the software development industry
  • Ability to read technical and non-technical documentation and build comprehensive test suites
  • Ability to find and report issues and communicate with internal team in a professional and efficient way
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes

Responsibilities
  • Reviewing requirements, specifications, and technical documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Developing and executing detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases using an automated testing framework such as C# / .NET
  • Identifying, recording, documenting, and tracking bugs using Jira
  • Performing regression testing after deployments and bug fixes
  • Conducting various testing types such as manual, functional, UI/UX, integration, system, and UAT
  • Collaborating closely with developers to understand technical constraints
  • Working with product owners, UX, and customers to understand how customers use our applications and building tests that reflect customer usage.
  • Providing timely and accurate test status reports and documentation
  • Participating in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (daily standups, sprint planning, etc.)
