As a Software Quality Engineer on the PingAccess team, you are responsible for functional test design and planning, operation and creation of test automation tools and frameworks, and the detailed staging of complex distributed test scenarios. You will work closely with developers, and take projects from start to finish. You will build product expertise and provide input with real impact.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Development and execution of automated tests (primarily service/backend rather than UI)
  • Development and maintenance of other test assets including test matrices, test strategies, test cases/plans
  • Maintaining and extending the automation test framework
  • Staging test situations to better understand situations reported from the field
  • Actively participate in design and code reviews
  • Stay on the forefront of knowledge in the industry and share information with other team members

You have:

  • Working knowledge of the Java programming language
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Excellent grasp of the fundamentals of HTTP
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and familiarity with JSON
  • Experience writing test plans and test cases

You will have an advantage if you have:

  • Experience creating test automation tools and utilities
  • Experience with IIS, Apache, or nginx web servers
  • Have familiarity with cryptographic concepts and TLS/SSL certificates
  • Experience working with DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins
  • Have strong interest in digital identity security
  • Have knowledge of authentication and authorization protocols, such as SAML, OAuth and OpenID Connect

Salary Range: $74,000 - $88,000
In accordance with Pay Transparency Act the approximate compensation range for this role in Canada is listed above. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors, such as knowledge, skills, and abilities.
