Description

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 11 years of directly related experience with aerospace/defense industry software processes (e.g., RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP-4754, MIL-STD-498).
  • Experience supporting government customer projects (preferred).
  • Experience with FAA projects (preferred).
  • Basic understanding of audit techniques.
  • Basic understanding of software development and testing methods.
  • Ability to interpret schematic drawings, specifications, and contracts to support development and review of systems and software processes.
  • Experience in software requirements development.
  • Knowledge of software design and coding in C/C++, Ada, or other embedded programming languages.
  • Embedded software/hardware verification background or knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills (written, oral, listening, presentation, and technical writing).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with systems and software development teams, test and evaluation personnel, and project managers.
  • Work effectively in a team environment with strong customer-facing and interpersonal skills.
  • Rapidly gain familiarity with software process auditor responsibilities, technical requirements, program risks, and delivery schedules.
  • Review and approve system, software, and test equipment requirements, designs, and test documentation for compliance with process requirements and standards.
  • Interface with engineering counterparts to ensure compliance with contractual and company standards.
  • Participate in software change control boards.
  • Support program activities and supplier audits; moderate travel may be required.
  • Mentor and train junior employees as needed.
