About the Assignment We are looking for a Software Release Engineer with a strong background in software release and configuration management within the automotive industry. In this role, you will work in a cross-functional environment with many stakeholders, contributing to improved release quality, structured deliveries, and continuous process improvements across the software release flow. Job Description Manage software release activities such as signing and releases towards key milestones Produce and maintain software part numbers and release documentation for each milestone Create and maintain SW package manifests, loadfile manifests, and compliance reports Ensure alignment between diagnostic signal databases (e.g., Carcom and SDB) Facilitate release approvals, deviations, and related follow-ups Plan and coordinate supplier software releases Manage supplier software backlog and follow up deliveries Follow up QOP/finance-related topics connected to supplier deliveries Coordinate and run supplier joint reviews Support factory and aftermarket processes, including deviation handling and release support Support new project work such as sourcing documentation and software requirement specifications (SWRS) Requirements BSc degree in Software Engineering or similar Experience from Volvo Cars Strong competence in software release and configuration management in the automotive industry Familiarity with CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery) Experience with software variants management and branch management Experience producing and maintaining software release documentation Good understanding of vehicle product development processes Hands-on experience with tools such as Jenkins, ConfigHub, Victoria, Artifactory Experience with KDP, TCPLM, Teamcenter, and Carweaver Experience with Carcom and SDB Experience with TPDE, TPDS, and DESD Experience with QOP/VPC, Pecca Procost, and Lotus Notes Experience with Jira and Confluence Application Selections are made on an ongoing basis, so we recommend that you apply as soon as possible.
