We build mission critical systems for the Department of Defense (DoD) and other commercial customers. We’re looking for an experienced Software Release Manager to coordinate and implement our release process across the multiple software products that we develop. The release manager is an advocate for process and traceability and ultimately signs off on a release before it is delivered to a customer. The release manager must be an outspoken individual that can navigate the demands of our fast-paced release cycle. They should be very detail oriented and familiar with Jira for ticket tracking and release management. Responsibilities: Improve and maintain the release process for our software products across the company Coordinate with the Product Manager, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and the Test Lead to identify release dates, define release scope, and confirm the capabilities and fixes to be delivered in each release. Track and report the status of the release, including progress towards the milestones and highlighting any risks. Ensure the release process is followed and the release process is fully completed every time Collaborate with Scrum Masters and development teams to identify and remove blockers impacting release readiness or delivery. Maintain the official release calendar and communicates schedule updates and scope changes to all relevant stakeholders. Notify internal stakeholders and customers of upcoming releases, including key enhancements, resolved issues, and any potential impacts updating will have. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience in Software Release Management Requires active secret clearance. Experience with ticketing software (Jira) Strong language/communication skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. Salary Range The proposed salary range is reflective across all Sherpa 6 locations, years of experience, and skill levels. Salary negotiations will be based on a host of factors including but not limited to your geographic location, prior experience, relevant skills, education, and certifications.
