Software Specialties - DevOps

JOB OBJECTIVE

We’re looking for a DevOps engineer who can be responsible for deploying product updates, identifying production issues, and implementing integrations that meet our customers’ needs. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering and be familiar with Python, Ansible, Helm and will work with developers and engineers to ensure that software development follows established processes and works as intended. The DevOps engineer will also help plan projects and be involved in project management decisions.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Specific technical competencies will be appreciated and evaluated in particular relevant to:

• Degree in computer engineering, telecommunication engineering or computer science with a large professional experience (min. 5 years) in the design and development of complex software architectures.
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Delivery practices
• Knowledge of networking
• Experience in Agile approach
• Knowledge of SW Configuration Management tools (GIT/Jira)
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration tools (Jenkins and related qualimetry tools)
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with Java development
• Familiarity with OCC software
• Advanced Linux and Windows administration skills
• Experience with network security and administration, specifically with firewalls, switch and load balancer administration. In depth knowledge of network design and security protocols.
• Experience customizing, managing and scaling monitoring, metrics collection and graphing systems, such as Prometheus and Grafana
• Excellent knowledge on scripting languages
• Experience with configuration management systems and concepts (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt, etc.)
• Keen interest in deployment pipelines and continuous delivery
• Good communication skills
• Fluent Italian and English language, spoken and written

• Building and implementing new development tools and infrastructure
• Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying them to developers
• Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
• Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results
• Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
• Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and fixes
• Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
• Planning projects and being involved in project management decisions
• Deploy updates and fixes, and provide Level 2 technical support
• Build tools to reduce occurrence of errors and improve customer experience
• Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
• Perform root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issues
• Develop scripts to automate visualization
• Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
