Description
Installs, configures, tests and maintains operating systems, application software, and system management tools. Designs limited enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software, including operating systems, compliers, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools. Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on specific objectives and established project guidelines. Executes and writes portions of testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application; identifies and debugs issues with code and suggests changes or improvements. Participates in concept design discussions, gathers system level requirements, clarifies interfaces, provides feedbacks into future design requirements to help develop robust and high-performance solutions. Improves the whole lifecycle of services from inception and design, through deployment, operation, and refinement. Provides support services through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews. Participates as a member of project team of other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for assigned systems portion or subsystem. Collaborates and communicates with internal and outsourced development partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution. Develops conclusions, recommendations, and written reports, contributing proactively through research and data analysis support, and sharing knowledge to foster a knowledge management culture. Impacts immediate team and acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and limited project direction input. Complexity Responds to routine issues within established guidelines.
