Software Test Engineer – 26-012 – San Diego, CA AUSGAR Technologies has an exciting NEW opportunity for a Software Test Engineer to join our team of smart and innovative technical team members at NIWC PAC – Seaside in the Point Loma area of San Diego, CA. The Software Test Engineer will support mission-critical applications and have strong experience in both manual and automated testing, with a focus on UI/UX validation and the ability to work within a modern cloud-based, containerized environment. This role requires close collaboration with development teams in an Agile setting to ensure high-quality software delivery. Key Responsibilities: Execute manual and automated test cases to validate application functionality and user experience. Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts. Collaborate with development teams to identify, troubleshoot and resolve defects. Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement. Provide detailed reporting on test results, defects and quality metrics. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited college or university. 4-7 years software test engineering experience. Strong attention to detail and user experience quality. Manual & UI/UX Testing Demonstrated experience in manual software testing, including: UI/UX validation Functional testing Regression testing Automated Test Engineering Proven experience designing, developing and executing automated test scripts using frameworks such as Selenium and Robot Framework. Ability to build robust, reusable and maintainable automation suites. Experience creating and managing comprehensive test plans, including scope, strategy and execution processes. Skilled in analyzing automated test results, identifying trends and reporting on software quality and test coverage. Code Comprehension & Debugging Ability to read, understand and debug Java code to identify root causes of defects. Experience analyzing application logs to troubleshoot issues and validate system behavior. Technical Environment Proficiency Hands-on experience testing within AWS cloud environments. Familiarity with container orchestration platforms, such as Kubernetes or OpenShift. Agile & Collaboration Experience working in an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environment. Proficiency in identifying, documenting and tracking defects using standard tools. Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, engineers and stakeholders to resolve issues and improve product quality. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration for automated testing. Familiarity with DevSecOps practices. Exposure to performance or load testing tools. Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash). Salary Range: $130K-145K Based on your qualifications, you will be placed in Level I-V.
