Description

This position is a hybrid remote position requiring the successful candidate to work onsite 2-3 days per week at the William J. Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. The remainder of the work week will be spent in remote work. All candidates will need to demonstrate an ability to commute to the WJHTC. Candidates who are unable to commute to the WJHTC will not be considered.

This position requires a Public Trust Clearance. In order to obtain a Public Trust Clearance, candidates will need to be able to show that they have maintained permanent residence in the United States for past three (3) consecutive years. Candidates who are unable to satisfy this requirement will not be considered.

SUMMARY

This position will provide test engineering support to the Federal Aviation Administration’s Second Level Engineering (SLE) group, specifically the Federal Notice to Airmen (FNS) program, under the Terminal and Technical (TnT) Operations Contract at the William J. Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC) in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey.
The successful candidate will be a highly responsible, team-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and a self-starter. Ability to act independently to research and resolve problems. Excellent interpersonal skills; and able to rapidly develop positive customer and team relationships and possess communication skills.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

  • Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of networks with an emphasis on Unix/Linux.
  • Working experience with networking infrastructure such as servers, routers, and switches.
  • Ability to learn tasks related to FAA Technical Operations/ATC Functions.
  • Field support and system maintenance experience a plus.
  • Test and evaluation and/or testbed knowledge and excellent documentation skills desired.
  • Participate and contribute to team meetings and discussions in person or virtually.
  • Detail oriented documentation (system test documentation, test cases and good record keeping).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including providing status reports.
  • Motivated to learn and willing to work with minimal supervision.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Programming: C, C++, C#, Java/JavaScript, HTML, XML, VB, Python
  • Operating Systems: Unix, LINUX, Ubuntu, Windows

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or another related technical discipline with at least thirty (30) semester hours of Computer Science, Math, or Statistics and five (5) years of relevant experience of relevant experience.
