Job Description
Overview: As a Software Test Engineer on the Innovation team, you’ll work closely with software engineers, product managers, and product designers to ensure the quality and reliability of our AAC device software. You’ll be responsible for developing and executing both manual and automated test plans, validating new features, catching regressions, and helping us ship confidently. You’ll play a key role in shaping how we test, ensuring every release supports a better experience for the people who rely on our products every day.

Responsibilities
  • Own the quality of product features within your cross-functional Innovation team.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute test cases for new functionality, enhancements, and bug fixes.
  • Perform regression, smoke, and exploratory testing on Hub and related applications.
  • Build and maintain automated test suites using modern frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, PyTest).
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to improve testability and clarify acceptance criteria.
  • Work closely with customer support and engineering to reproduce and triage reported issues.
  • Contribute to the evolution of our test infrastructure and tooling.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies and provide visibility into test coverage and quality status.
    Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in software testing or QA
  • Strong experience writing and executing manual and automated test cases
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or PHP)
  • Experience with API testing using tools like Postman or REST Assured
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (GitHub, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Experience with the triage of support tickets
  • Strong understanding of Agile development practices
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality

Preferred:

  • Experience testing device software
  • Experience with Unity and C#
  • Familiarity with accessibility testing principles
  • Knowledge of testing speech, audio, or media-related applications
  • Experience working on cross-functional Agile team
