SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER/QA (ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEMS)
Location: Fully on-site at our GivEnergy UK Head Office in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire (ST5 9HX)
Schedule: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm
Salary: £35k - £55k pa depending on experience and qualification level
Experience Level: 3+ years’ experience in a similar role would be preferred

We’re growing our team with a Test Engineer to help develop a smart, scalable platform that powers innovation, supports hardware R&D, and keeps GivEnergy ahead of the curve in our mission to empower energy freedom for all!
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Responsibilities Include:
Time Management
· Planning own work and supporting the Lead Test Engineer with planning work for the team.
· Ensuring deadlines are met for projects, making sure that the testing scope can be implemented towards the end of the sprint.
Test Plan and Strategy Creation
· Define test approaches.
· Plan integration testing with hardware components (e.g., inverters and batteries).
· Working with the team analysing requirements, building test plans, and testing new features.
Manual Testing
· Verify UI/UX for mobile applications.
· Perform exploratory testing of new software builds for several teams.
· Root cause analysis for the issue found during QA process.
· Confirm proper logging and fault detection during device operation.
Regression Testing
· Ensure recent software changes haven’t broken existing features.
Firmware Validation
· Test the new software is compatible with existing firmware.
Hardware Testing (Optional)
· Ensure correct data is captured and interpreted (e.g. temperature sensors, motion detectors etc)
