FULL TIME, EXEMPT

Location: Victor, NY // HYBRID position (in office minimum of 1 day per week, some assignments will require additional days)
REDCOM Laboratories, Inc., a U.S. company that specializes in the development of advanced strategic, operational, and tactical communication solutions, is looking for a Software Test Engineer to join our team.
In this position, you will support the testing of REDCOM products. Our products provide secure real-time voice, video, and chat communication capabilities and make a tangible difference around the world every day. We are looking for someone who enjoys learning, testing, and solving problems - someone who thrives while working in a supportive team environment where you can have fun while meeting your project goals.
Specifically, we are looking for a detail-oriented Software Test Engineer who enjoys collaboration and can work as a member of a team. In your day-to-day you will analyze product user stories and specifications, design, document, and run tests covering product functionality and certification requirements, and troubleshoot issues across our product line. A successful candidate will have a working knowledge of software testing equivalent to one or more years of industry experience. We operate in an Agile/Scrum environment and use current software development and test practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong background in software test methods and reporting
  • Ability to develop a deep understanding of product users and use cases, and translate that information into test design and test cases
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Working knowledge of IP/Networking
  • Ability to set up complex test environments
  • Must be able to travel at least 2 weeks per year
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a directly related discipline (such as Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science) OR attainment of the same level of advanced knowledge through military training or other directly related experience and 1-3 years of experience

The ideal candidate would also have experience with SIP, VoIP, military communications systems, or Joint Interoperability Certification Testing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This is a hands-on engineering position requiring the ability to occasionally stand, lift, carry, push, pull, reach, hear, have visual acuity, and have manual dexterity (use of fingers for fine activities) due to the nature of the complex array of equipment and products.
