Description

Scanogen is looking for a motivated and skilled software test engineer to join our R&D team. We are a rapidly growing start-up company developing a molecular detection platform that will dramatically improve the diagnosis of diseases. We need diligent, driven, and inventive individuals.
Position Title: Software Test Engineer
Location: Windsor Mill, Maryland, United States

Job Duties:

  • Create and document test cases, and trace them to corresponding software requirements.
  • Write C# testing scripts to perform API testing, automated integration testing, and formal systems testing.
  • Perform interactive testing of the medical diagnostic system software.
  • Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to ensure automated instrument software implements requirements for software to meet end users’ needs.
  • Read, interpret, and write technical software documentation. Ensure software meets compliance with FDA regulations.
  • Work with external cybersecurity consultants to ensure the product is not vulnerable to threats.

Required Qualifications:

  • A degree in Computer Science or related STEM field; or 2+ years of experience writing automated C# test software & test documentation in a corporate setting. Alternatively, 4+ years of writing peer-reviewed C# software in any setting.
  • Strong writing and technical communication skills.
  • Experience with NUnit or similar.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with GIT / GitHub or other version control system.
  • Understanding of relational database concepts (MSSQL or similar).
  • Passionate about software testing and eager to learn and grow within the field.
  • Able to work in a BSL-2 lab environment when needed, including wearing PPE to perform activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in writing C# NUnit test cases for Selenium or similar, to test a JavaScript/Web application hosted in Electron.
  • Proficiency in writing C# NUnit test cases for business logic hosted as C# Web API services.
  • Experience in the conversion of software specifications into written test documentation.
  • Development of software for medical devices under FDA guidelines.
  • Experience working with a small to medium-sized team on a software project.
  • Familiarity with the Google Workspace Suite of tools.
