Description

Do you want to work on innovative vehicles that make a difference worldwide? With your critical eye and smart testing methods, you safeguard the quality of the software and systems behind our vehicles. Then we would love to get to know you!

What are you going to do?

As a Software Test Engineer, you ensure that the software and systems in our vehicles function reliably and properly. You are part of a team of three Software Test Engineers within Engineering and report to the Team Lead Software Test Engineering, who reports to the Manager System & Software Engineering. From the start of a project, you work closely with software engineers and other technical disciplines.

You translate requirements into smart test cases and execute them, both in the test environment and on our vehicles at our own test track. In doing so, you look beyond standard usage and deliberately seek out different scenarios and boundaries. This allows you to discover where software and systems can be improved.

You analyze the results, discuss your findings with the development team, and retest after adjustments to ensure bugs have actually been resolved. In this way, you are involved in the entire validation process, from preparation and execution to reporting.

In concrete terms, this means that you:

  • Reviews requirements and translates into clear test cases;
  • Performs software and system testing, including testing on physical vehicles;
  • investigates various use and misuse scenarios;
  • Analyzes test results and clearly reports findings;
  • Retests bugs after adjustments and checks if they have been resolved correctly;
  • Contributes ideas for improving test methods and test coverage.

Who are you?

You are curious about how systems really work and do not simply assume that something functions correctly. With your critical eye, you look for situations where software reacts differently than expected. You work in a structured and precise manner, but at the same time enjoy getting hands-on with our vehicles. You enjoy collaborating with engineers, are not afraid to ask questions, and communicate clearly about what you encounter during testing.

What else do you bring?

  • Higher professional or university level working and thinking skills in a technical field, such as mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or a similar field;
  • Experience with drafting test cases based on requirements;
  • An accurate, structured, and independent way of working;
  • Affinity with software, systems, and vehicle technology;
  • Interested in working practically with our vehicles in addition to software testing;
  • Experience within the automotive industry is a plus.

Good to know:

  • You have an EU passport or a valid work permit for the Netherlands;
  • You have a good command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written.

What do we offer you?

At Terberg, we believe in doers. In people who don't wait around, but take the lead themselves. Who have both feet on the ground and dare to dream big. Whether you are working on innovative vehicles, developing sustainable mobility solutions, or strengthening our organization from your field of expertise: at Terberg, you get the chance to make a difference and develop yourself.

What else can you expect from us?

  • A key position in which you make a visible contribution to the development of people, technology, and our vehicles of tomorrow;
  • An open, informal, and no-nonsense culture with short lines of communication;
  • An international work environment with ample room for initiative, improvement, and collaboration;
  • An attractive employment conditions package, tailored to your experience and educational level and in accordance with the collective labor agreement for the small metal and technology sector;
  • 200 vacation hours per year (based on full-time employment);
  • Participation in a collective pension scheme;
  • The opportunity to participate in our collective health insurance;
  • Tax benefit through our bicycle scheme;
  • Sporting activities and various social events, including wonderful company parties where colleagues also meet outside of work.
