JOB SUMMARY:

An Electrical Engineering Services and Solutions division is seeking a passionate Software Test Specialist to join a dynamic team. This role plays a key part in ensuring the quality of substation automation products by delivering effective testing and supporting rapid time-to-market, while maintaining the highest standards of software quality.
The specialist will actively contribute throughout the development cycle by designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test frameworks. Working closely with developers, product managers, and project managers, you will participate in Agile team activities, including sprint planning and daily standups. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the success of integrated solutions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in software testing (system, black-box, integration, performance, load, regression).
• Strong knowledge of IP network protocols (TCP/UDP/IP).
• Experience with JIRA and GitHub.
• Proficiency in both French and English (oral and written).
• Legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship.
• Must reside within 80 km of Brossard, QC.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education or certification in software quality assurance (e.g., ISTQB).
• Experience with Python or PowerShell for automated testing.
• Knowledge of automated testing tools (TestComplete or equivalent).
• Familiarity with industrial IP protocols: Modbus TCP, DNP3, OPC-UA, IEC61850.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMWare, Hyper-V, containers, etc.).
• Programming knowledge in C, C++, or C#.
• Experience with IT infrastructure: networking, Active Directory, switches, etc.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies (SCRUM or similar).
• Knowledge of electrical systems engineering.

QUALIFICATIONS DE BASE :

• Baccalauréat en génie, informatique ou équivalent.
• Minimum de 3 ans d’expérience en tests logiciels (système, boîte noire, intégration, performance, charge, régression).
• Bonne connaissance des protocoles réseau IP (TCP/UDP/IP).
• Expérience avec JIRA et GitHub.
• Maîtrise du français et de l’anglais (oral et écrit).
• Être légalement autorisé à travailler au Canada sans parrainage.
• Résider dans un rayon de 80 km de Brossard, QC.

• Review system requirements with clients and understand functional needs.
• Contribute to project planning by estimating testing efforts, strategies, and resources.
• Develop and execute test plans, scenarios, and procedures for various test types: functional, GUI, integration, regression, data validation, etc.
• Design and maintain reliable automated test solutions to prevent software regression.
• Analyze test results, identify/document failures, and collaborate with developers on resolutions.
• Validate official product releases and ensure final quality.
• Draft technical documents, including installation, maintenance, and user manuals.
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge.
• Continuously improve testing methodologies and promote best practices within the team.
• Manage and maintain the test lab environment.
