This is what you can expect

Do you want to develop complex simulation software and hardware-related applications for autonomous technical systems? As a C++ Simulation / Embedded Systems Software Developer (all genders), you will work on sophisticated solutions for safety-critical applications. You will be involved in the software's entire lifecycle, from requirements and architecture to integration and maintenance. You will actively contribute to the development of modern simulation models, frameworks, and embedded software.

  • You design, develop and implement simulation models for technical devices, systems and their operating environment.
  • You develop software in modern C++ and integrate hardware-related and embedded components.
  • You improve simulation frameworks, user interfaces, and testing and debugging tools.
  • You create software requirements, architectures, designs, and technical implementation concepts.
  • You maintain requirements and test specifications at the system, component, and unit levels.
  • You evaluate software architectures in terms of quality, cost, deadlines, and technical feasibility.
  • You perform software tests, integrations, reviews and verifications, and document the results.
  • You coordinate with customers, development teams and related departments.
  • You will provide support in the planning and implementation of work packages, as well as during the subsequent maintenance phase.

This is what you bring with you

  • Completed studies in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, aerospace engineering or a comparable technical field
  • Alternatively, training as an IT specialist with appropriate further education and several years of professional experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of modern C++ and experience with low-level programming.
  • Knowledge of Python and experience in a Linux development environment
  • Solid experience in requirements engineering and in formulating clear, verifiable requirements
  • Knowledge of software architecture, software design, and structured development processes
  • Several years of professional experience in software development
  • Experience with agile working methods as well as a structured and team-oriented work style
  • Excellent English skills; German skills are an advantage.

  • Knowledge of autonomous systems, robotics, underwater technologies or space systems
  • Experience with federated simulations or co-simulation techniques
