About the area
For the "Missile Warning Engineering" department, we are looking for a "Software Engineer for Embedded Software (m/f/d)" to start as soon as possible.
The department is responsible for the development of electro-optical systems for the detection of guided missiles. This covers the entire product lifecycle – from the proposal phase through the development of demonstrators and prototypes, product and series development, to series support and necessary adaptation developments.
In this role, you will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle: from software specification and detailed design to implementation, testing, and documentation. In this challenging position, you will work across disciplines on the development of highly reliable embedded software used in state-of-the-art missile warning systems. Your tasks
- Specification, design and development of software for embedded systems, including participation in the definition of the software architecture and detailed software design.
- Implementation of the software in C/C++ using a model-driven approach
- Development of Special To-Type Test Equipment (STTE), which includes custom-made PC-based test systems that replicate all relevant interfaces and functions of the embedded system to enable comprehensive communication, control and monitoring of the systems during integration and verification.
- Performing hardware/software integration activities
- Responsibility for creating the software development documentation
- Software verification and validation, definition of test procedures and documentation of test results at the software and system level
- Close collaboration with the areas of systems engineering, hardware/firmware development and algorithm development
Your profile
- Completed engineering or computer science degree or comparable qualification
- Professional experience as a software engineer (m/f/d) in complex software projects for embedded systems
- Very good knowledge of the programming languages C/C++
- Experience in software development with Visual Studio, MFC or Qt as well as LabVIEW
- Knowledge of network programming, serial interfaces (RS422, RS485), bus systems and avionics interfaces (MIL-Bus, ARINC-429) is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills and high social competence
- Ability to work in international and diverse teams
- Fluent English and German skills
