Description

Select Carbon is an end-to-end carbon service provider with over a decade of experience in working with landholders to develop, manage and report on carbon farming projects. Select Carbon provides options to land managers to integrate carbon projects into their farming business with a system- and science-based approach. In so doing, we aim to contribute to climate change action by supporting activities that increase carbon stored in vegetation or soil, empower people and strengthen land-based businesses.
Select Carbon was Shell’s first acquisition globally for its Nature-Based Solutions business, which invests in agricultural land management as well as in forests, grasslands, wetlands and other natural ecosystems around the world to reduce emissions and capture CO2 while benefiting productivity, biodiversity, and local communities.

Responsibilities

WHAT’S THE ROLE

The Soil Carbon team in Select Carbon has an enviable set of skills and expertise across farming systems, agronomy, soil microbiology, precision agriculture, spatial analysis, remote sensing and soil sampling and analysis. Select Carbon has established robust processes for working with growers and their farm advisors to screen potential projects, conduct feasibility reports, develop land management strategies, track the implementation of Eligible Management Activities, and measure and monitoring soil carbon stocks for projects using the Soil Carbon Method in the ACCU Scheme.
