Description

Calgary Aggregate Recycling, a leading provider of soil reuse and construction recycling solutions, is seeking a skilled Plant Operator for our Soil Reuse Facility. As a Plant Operator, you will play a crucial role in the operation and maintenance of our state-of-the-art washing technology system. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the system, maximizing uptime and minimizing wear.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical proficiency with good electrical and processing knowledge.
  • Experience working with pumps, pumping systems, and motors.
  • Confident and committed, taking responsibility for equipment productivity, and displaying pride in the upkeep and throughput.
  • Decisiveness and urgency in identifying and addressing anomalies, with the authority to cease operations and conduct thorough investigations when necessary.
  • A strong sense of care and pride in the system and its presentation.
  • Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work long hours with some weekends and overtime.
  • Must comply with CAR’s zero tolerance policy and complete the pre-employment drug & alcohol and fit testing.
Responsibilities
  • Perform daily equipment operation tasks, including startup, shutdown, monitoring for potential blockages, handling and testing of chemicals (flocculants), and general housekeeping.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure timely ordering or requisitioning of wear parts and spares.
  • Adhere to the weekly lubrication schedule for seals and bearings, ensuring proper maintenance.
  • Perform routine specific housekeeping duties such as controlling spillage, cleaning mats, making incremental adjustments, and adjusting chemicals as required.
  • Check wear parts and system efficiencies, including screening media, cyclone parts, and identifying any leaks.
  • Conduct light maintenance work, such as changing valves, splitting pumps, and replacing screen media.
