Description

Building Site CCTV is looking for a reliable, hands-on and enthusiastic person to join our team as a Solar CCTV Technician.

No previous CCTV or security industry experience is required. Full training will be provided.

We are looking for someone with the right attitude who enjoys practical, hands-on work, can deal confidently with customers and wants to learn new skills.

This is a full-time, Monday-to-Friday position based from our Bayswater facility, with work carried out at building and construction sites throughout Melbourne and regional Victoria.

About Building Site CCTV

Building Site CCTV Pty Ltd is a privately owned Australian company specialising in the manufacture, installation and rental of solar-powered CCTV systems.

Established in 2019, we provide temporary security and surveillance solutions to builders, businesses, construction companies and government organisations across Victoria.

Our systems are assembled and supported by our own team, so this role provides exposure to a mix of solar, battery, CCTV, networking and communications technology.

The Role

As a Solar CCTV Technician, you'll be involved in the complete lifecycle of our systems — from assembling them in our workshop through to installation, servicing and troubleshooting in the field.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Installing and relocating CCTV systems on construction sites
  • Basic fabrication, drilling, cutting and assembly
  • Installing and configuring CCTV cameras and associated equipment
  • Working with solar panels, batteries and low-voltage equipment
  • Testing and troubleshooting equipment
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance and servicing
  • Cleaning and maintaining rental equipment
  • Managing equipment, parts and stock
  • Communicating with customers while attending their sites
  • Completing service calls and fault finding

You don't need to know how to do all of this already — we will teach you.

Who We're Looking For

Experience in CCTV, security or electronics is not essential.

We're more interested in finding someone who:

  • Is reliable, punctual and takes pride in their work
  • Has a good attitude and is willing to learn
  • Enjoys practical and hands-on work
  • Is comfortable using hand and power tools
  • Has good attention to detail
  • Can work independently and as part of a team
  • Is confident communicating with customers
  • Can problem-solve and use common sense
  • Is physically capable of performing the requirements of the position
  • Is comfortable working outdoors and on construction sites

Experience in construction, electrical, automotive, mechanical, telecommunications, security or another trade-related environment would be useful, but is not required.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must:

  • Hold a current Victorian manual driver's licence
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a Construction White Card
  • Be eligible to obtain a Victorian Security Licence if required for the position
  • Have unrestricted Australian working rights
  • Currently reside in Melbourne and be able to work from our Bayswater location
