Laborer Foreman SUMMARY  Mortenson is currently seeking a Laborer Foreman that will be responsible for coordinating crews, preparing, handling, and supplying materials to be used by other crafts. RESPONSIBILITIES * Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures * Supervise and coordinate activities of laborers and their assigned roles * Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders * Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations * Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedules, using knowledge of equipment capacities and assigned personnel * Study and analyze schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for job completion * Analyze and resolve work problems * Maintain time records * Make cost estimates for contracts * Use logical step-by-step procedures in work; plan work and solve problems; make decisions based on measurable information; may operate machinery * Provide work direction to laborer I, II, Journeyman, Apprentice, and Helpers * Work according to standard, detailed instructions and established, well-defined procedures * Determine work method from alternatives * Work under broad assignments * Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels * Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance * All other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS * Minimum three (3) years related experience preferred * Must possess union specific training * Current driver’s license * Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; ability to work with machinery such as forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies * Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback * Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements * *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs. * Please note: this position description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of the duties and responsibilities of the position.
