Description

SOLAR DESIGNER

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Solar Designer to join our dynamic team at Greenamp Solar and Energy. The ideal candidate will have a passion for renewable energy and the ability to translate technical specifications into visually compelling solar system designs. This role requires a strong understanding of solar design principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment. As a Solar Designer, you will contribute to various residential and commercial solar projects, ensuring that our brand’s vision is effectively represented while adhering to technical specifications and local codes. You will also be responsible for various permitting requirements, using a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system to track and complete tasks, and will report directly to the Sales Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in design software such as Aurora or similar tools (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope), as well as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
  • Experience with utilities and permitting processes for construction or energy projects is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with CRM software for task management and tracking.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects and creative solutions, with a focus on solar or other renewable energy projects.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex design concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field is preferred but not required; relevant experience and education in renewable energy will be considered.
  • Solar installation, construction, or electrical experience will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Develop innovative solar system designs that align with project goals and client expectations.
  • Design residential and commercial solar projects, using specialized software like Aurora, with precision and attention to detail as it relates to customer energy consumption and production.
  • Create high-quality schematics, renderings, and technical drawings for digital and print media, including project proposals, marketing materials, and installation guides.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and sales, to gather requirements and deliver designs that meet project specifications and local codes.
  • Manage and complete various permitting requirements for solar projects, including working with utilities.
  • Utilize a CRM system to track project progress, manage tasks, and ensure timely completion of all design and permitting activities.
  • Revise designs based on feedback from clients and team members while maintaining project timelines.
  • Stay updated on renewable energy industry trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve design processes and outputs.
  • Prepare presentations to communicate design ideas effectively to stakeholders.
  • Report to the Sales Manager on project status, challenges, and successes.
