As part of our growing team, we are seeking a Solar PV Designer to support our projects with expert system design and technical analysis.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

✅ Experience in Solar PV design (minimum 2 years, preferably in residential and commercial projects).
✅ Proficiency in OpenSolar, PV*SOL, PVsyst, AutoCAD (or similar design software).
✅ Strong understanding of solar technology, electrical systems, and renewable energy principles.
✅ Knowledge of local regulations, grid connection requirements, and safety standards.
✅ Ability to interpret architectural and electrical drawings.
✅ Strong analytical skills for energy modeling and system performance analysis.
✅ Excellent communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with internal teams and clients.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree/Diploma in Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in solar PV design or renewable energy systems is a plus.
  • Experience with battery storage systems and hybrid solar solutions.
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Solar PV Designer, you will be responsible for designing high-efficiency solar PV systems, optimizing layouts, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and sales teams to develop accurate system proposals using industry-leading design software such as OpenSolar, PV*SOL, and PVsyst.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and develop grid-tied and off-grid solar PV systems for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.
  • Utilize OpenSolar, PV*SOL, PVsyst, and other software for system modeling, energy yield analysis, and shading studies.
  • Optimize solar panel layouts, inverter selections, and electrical configurations to maximize system efficiency.
  • Conduct site assessments using satellite imagery, drone data, and customer-provided information.
  • Ensure designs comply with local building codes, electrical regulations, and industry standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, SEAI, etc.).
  • Prepare technical drawings, system schematics, and bill of materials (BOM) for project execution.
  • Collaborate with sales, installation, and engineering teams to refine proposals and ensure feasibility.
  • Assist in the preparation of planning applications, grid connection applications, and BER documentation where necessary.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in solar PV design.
