Description

In this role, you will be responsible for the technical support in design, installation, and maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. You will work closely with designers, project managers, installation teams, and clients to ensure high-quality solar energy solutions are provided. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of PV system design, troubleshooting, and performance optimization, with the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
System Design and Engineering:
· Assist with Design team and optimize solar PV systems to meet client energy needs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, local regulations, and best practices.
· Provide technical specifications for system components, such as solar panels, inverters, batteries, and mounting structures.
· Develop and review system designs for residential solar projects.
Technical Support:
· Provide technical support to installation teams during the commissioning and installation phases of solar projects.
· Assist with troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues related to system performance, electrical connections, or other PV-related concerns.
· Offer recommendations for system upgrades, improvements, or solutions to enhance system efficiency and performance.
Project Management Collaboration:
· Collaborate with electricians, engineers, and contractors to facilitate system integration and ensure safety protocols are followed.
· Ensure the accurate documentation of system configurations, installation procedures, and operational standards.
Maintenance and Performance Optimization:
· Provide ongoing technical support for the maintenance of solar PV systems, including fault diagnosis and troubleshooting.
· Analyse system performance data and recommend maintenance or upgrades to optimize system output.
· Ensure that systems are operating efficiently, and meeting performance guarantees over time.
Documentation and Reporting:
· Prepare technical reports, system documentation, and compliance records for each project.
· Document all troubleshooting steps, repairs, and maintenance performed on systems.
We are looking for:
- IT literate and confident using Microsoft Office applications including excel
- Good understanding of UK health & safety laws and regulations
- Effective team player and great collaborator
- Experience in system testing, commissioning, and performance optimization
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, solar PV regulations, and industry standards
- Demonstrates the values, behaviours and competencies expected from the group
- Contributes towards an innovative, ambitious, high-performance culture
- Demonstrates self-motivation with ability to work autonomously, managing own workload
-Detail orientated with ability to work within high pressure environments and meet conflicting deadlines
- Relevant industry NQV or industry qualifications or equivalent experience
- Manual full driving licence
- 18th Edition
- C&G 2391 desirable but not essential
Please note this role requires a successful DBS clearance
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £43,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
