EXPERIENCED SOLAR SALES MANAGER NEEDED

About the role: We are seeking an experienced Solar Sales Manager to expand our Residential Sales Channel in our Long Island and New York City markets. In this role, you will lead a sales channel by driving sales, building, developing, managing, and training a sales team, and developing an ongoing talent pipeline.
About the company: Harvest Power is a nationally recognized leader in the solar energy industry, providing full service residential and commercial solar energy project management including design, engineering, and installation of solar energy systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Minimum 2 years of solar sales experience
  • Minimum 75 personal installations
  • Minimum- must have ran 200+ in home solar consultations
  • Alternatively, must be a proven Sales Manager with success building and managing a salesforce.
  • Superior understanding of consumer offerings (materials, financial products, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience managing a sales team
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting, hiring, interviewing, training a sales team
  • Must have professional competencies and ability to work on administrative tasks
  • Salesforce skills (report building, opportunity delegation, calendar management)
  • Excellent verbal communication skills (phone & in-person)
  • Excellent written communication skills (proper grammar & email etiquette)
  • Professional organizational competencies (detail-oriented, prepared, punctual)
  • High level of accountability
  • College Degree highly preferred
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive sales and revenue through effective management of sale team
  • Achieve sales targets (both volume & margin) as set forth by Executive team
  • Ensure sales team is hitting metrics (40% conversion, 25% closing)
  • Develop a robust talent pipeline
  • Onboard and train 1-2 new sales reps per month as needed, and/or until revenue targets are achieved
  • Revise proposals (as needed) and pre-cad designs to speed up sales cycle
  • Oversee sales reps’ schedules, pipelines & proposals
  • Run SPIFs, contests, and promotions
  • Negotiate with sales reps and customers on competitive projects
  • Make customer/ sales rep concessions when necessary to win jobs
  • Run 2-3 bookings per week to drive personal sales performance and/or until revenue targets are achieved
  • Collaborates with Call Center Manager to ensure consultations are well-qualified, strategically booked, and setup for success
  • Must be somewhat advanced on salesforce. Ability to build reports, delegate/assign accounts and opportunities to sales team
  • Reports to Director on market trends
  • Special projects as assigned by VP
  • Develops & masters professional sales management competencies
