This includes cable assembly, soldering cable leads onto printed circuit board through-hole locations, some surface-mount technology (SMT) soldering, some ball grid array (BGA) soldering, potting, final assembly, testing, and packing in accordance with established methods, standards, and work instructions. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. Working Hours - Monday thru Friday - 3pm to 11pm with a 2nd shift $1.00 differential Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the following essential functions: Solder cable leads to through-hole locations on printed circuit boards Some surface-mount technology (SMT) or ball grid array (BGA) soldering Cut, strip, tin, solder and terminate cable assemblies Produce electronic assemblies from start to finish according to the schedule, specifications, engineering drawings, and work instructions Fabricate or modify parts, using provided shop equipment and tools Attach appropriate labels to wires, products and packages Test product functional performance to ensure conformance to specifications prior to shipment Record any defects or other data as requested by supervisors or managers Where applicable, understand serialized processes and trace data through product’s serial number Pack finished goods into correct packages and boxes Notify supervisor of any mechanical or material issues Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Perform other duties as required and assigned; duties and activities may change over time Required Key Competencies Ability to Work Efficiently and Methodically Thoroughness and Attention to Details Ability to Follow Instructions Willingness to Work Flexibly Communicate effectively Technical Capacity Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, various temperatures. Requirements Required Qualifications and Experience High school diploma or GED preferred Previous soldering experience Soldering certification (IPC) is a plus (but not required) Previous experience in operation of electronic equipment Must be able to routinely lift 25 pounds Must be able to work in fast-paced environments Occasional overtime to meet business needs Must be conversant in English for safe and effective performance of the job Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

The Soldering Associate performs production tasks including cable assembly, soldering, potting, and final assembly of electronic components. They are also responsible for testing product performance, recording data, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.
