REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualified solicitor or accredited immigration/asylum caseworker.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-study legal work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of UK asylum law and asylum appeal procedures.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload with little to no supervision.
  • Excellent drafting, communication, and client-handling skills.
  • Knowledge of employment law or the ability to take on employment cases will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high professional and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

DMO Olabamiji Solicitors is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable legal professional to handle asylum and asylum appeal matters. This is a full-time, office-based position involving the provision of legal advice and representation in initial asylum claims and appeal proceedings.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to client care, legal excellence, and the ability to manage a busy caseload with minimal supervision. The ability to take on employment law matters will be considered an added advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide legal advice and support to clients on all aspects of asylum law.
  • Prepare and submit asylum claims and supporting documentation to the Home Office.
  • Manage asylum appeal cases, including drafting statements, preparing bundles, and legal submissions.
  • Liaise with clients, interpreters, and relevant third parties with sensitivity and professionalism.
  • Represent clients at appeal hearings, where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate, well-organised case files and ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal deadlines.
  • Keep up to date with developments in asylum law, policy, and tribunal procedures.
