Endeavour encompasses industry-leading brands in retail and hospitality, alongside manufacturing services, wineries, and other specialty-related businesses and services.
The Solution Architect E2E Venues is a key contributor to the groups architecture practice, collaborating closely with peer groups, Practice Leads, Delivery & Engineering teams, Enterprise Architects, and Programme/Project leads.
Supporting Customer and Team Technology in the key domain of E2E Venues, the solution architect is responsible for solution architecture that deliver modernised, connected digital and venue experiences for our hotels and accommodation guests and staff.
The solution architect develops guidelines, best practices, roadmaps, solution architecture designs and performs technical evaluations that assist technology investment decisions, enabling EGL engineering teams to implement innovative, secure and scalable solutions.
The role covers the scoping of current and future applications, and optimisations of process & flow of data between core Venue systems: Gaming (key focus area), Point-of-Sale, Accommodation, Loyalty, and ERP. As EGL is on a transformation journey, this role will be key to ensure alignment to Interim and Target states across Enterprise Architecture for Team Technology, ALH Technology and the wider Enterprise.
To deliver tactical and strategic initiatives in the venues, the solution architect works closely with Solution Managers responsible for Venue systems, Gaming and Loyalty, as well as Business stakeholders, architects from Data, Integration, and Cyber, and also technology practice leads and engineers.

  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient architectures that are well researched with an accepted rationale and delivered with a structured set of architectural artefacts that are useful for multiple audiences.
  • Facilitating the adoption of target-state architectures, aligned across the enterprise where applicable, including conducting assessments of application designs for alignment with architectural principles and guardrails throughout project life cycles.
  • Autonomously diagnosing and resolving architecture and integration issues, and investigating options to enhance application performance and security through enterprise-level solutions.
  • Providing thought leadership to identify & evaluate new technologies and how they can benefit Venues, e.g. AI, fraud detection, facial recognition.
  • Collaboration with Data Governance, Cybersecurity, and Platform teams, as well as Risk and Project Portfolio Offices, to capture and track assessment-related issues in project and risk registers.
  • Contributing to the Architecture peer group and collaborating with Practice Leads within engineering, squads and Vendor consultants for Loyalty, Gaming and Venues platforms.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Gaming Domain/Venues/Accommodation.
  • Knowledgeable in designing and integrating systems for EGM’s, gaming venues, and associated technologies.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Experience in an Enterprise Architecture management tool is desirable.
  • TOGAF or relevant industry certifications is desirable.
  • Ability to think strategically and predict future opportunities.
  • Solving challenging business questions, with the independence and freedom to find the best solution.
  • An ability to think quickly and creatively to solve business challenges.
  • Powerful stakeholder communications, ability to read a room and tailor the message.
