Description:

It’s not just a job — together, we’re on a mission. We’re committed to accelerating the energy transition, with the goal of empowering 2 million sustainable energy installations by 2035. But we cannot achieve this goal alone. We are looking for talents to strengthen our team, and work with others on what really matters.
The team you will join
At iChoosr, you will join a team of 140 goal getters with a proactive approach, strong sense of ownership and strong interpersonal skills. Your colleagues work across the US, the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK, Poland and Japan.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Product at iChoosr consists of five key teams: Engineering, Data, Product Management, Product Design, and Product Operations. Together, these teams make up approximately 40 people, representing about one-third of our company. Our teams are distributed across several locations, working collaboratively to drive our digital platform and customer experiences.
In this role, you will be at the helm of iChoosr’s infrastructure. In collaboration with our other engineers you will organise and optimise our resources in Azure, Kubernetes and beyond. You will guard the stability and predictability of our platform and you will shape our infrastructure roles and rights management. Your expertise will influence the future of our platform.
Historically, we have always built our own bespoke software architecture and solutions, tailoring our technology closely to our specific needs. However, we are now at the forefront of a significant replatforming initiative. This shift involves combining our custom-built software with best-of-breed solutions available in the market to create a more scalable, flexible, and robust platform.
As we move to integrate existing tools into our technology stack, there is a crucial need for a Solutions Architect. This role will guide us through this transition, ensuring that our new architecture not only meets current demands but is also poised for future growth and innovation. The Solutions Architect will play a vital role in designing the blueprint for this hybrid architecture, aligning it with our business goals and ensuring a seamless transition to this new platform.
Your responsibilities

As a Solution Architect, you provide hands-on architectural guidance and leadership to our internal engineering teams, supporting them in the development of iChoosr’s platform. You report to the Chief Product Officer. You will need to be able to:

  • Analyse business and technical requirements and translate those into architectural blueprints.
  • Work with the platform team and support other engineering teams to produce optimal technological designs to support the product including dependencies with other systems in the business.
  • Manage and lead the target architecture, policies and standards.
  • Work proactively to maintain a stable, viable architecture and ensure consistency of design across the entire platform.
  • Actively collaborate with the engineering team and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate decision making
  • Guide the engineering team in designing, developing and integrating solutions, including hands-on coding and technical problem-solving as needed.
  • Lead and guide replatforming efforts, ensuring seamless migration while minimising disruption and maximising the benefits of the new platform.
  • Coach and develop the architectural capabilities of the engineering team.
  • Provide a clear governance and oversight to ensure that the architectural principles and patterns are adhered to.
  • Create and maintain detailed architectural documentation, including diagrams, models, and solution blueprints to support implementation and ongoing maintenance.
  • Ensure that all solutions are secure, compliant with relevant regulations, and follow best practices in data protection and cybersecurity.

ADDITIONALLY, THE FOLLOWING SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS ARE A PLUS

  • Good knowledge of open source technologies and stretching into code management, testing and deployment tools.
  • Commercial awareness of implementing software, including understanding the cost of systems, ownership implications, and the impact of new technology in an established organisation.
  • Good experience with and knowledge of the Agile / Scrum delivery process.
