PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • In-depth understanding of MOD maintenance, equipment, and engineering processes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MOD, DEFSTAN/JSP standards.
  • Demonstrable experience in Cloud Architecture preferable Azure.
  • Use of repository based Enterprise Architecture modelling tools (e.g., Sparx EA, Mega, iServer, System Architect).
  • Demonstrable knowledge of MOD Design Principles - Secure by Design.
  • Degree-level education preferred.
  • Self-starter with experience working in a matrix organization, capable of discussing ideas and concepts with staff at all levels.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues, partners, vendors, and project sponsors.
  • Experience in applying consultancy approaches and techniques.
  • Familiarity with a range of delivery methods, including waterfall, agile, and DevOps.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Boeing’s Defence UK Digital Function is at the forefront of delivering innovative programmes within the Defence and Security Sectors across the UK. We are seeking a Solution Architect for the Maritime Domain, to join our team of skilled Architects. This role will primarily focus design and execution of a significant programme of work for the Ministry of Defence (MOD) in the Engineering and Logistics domain.
Please note: this role is subject to successful Contract Award.
This is an on-site based role, with flexibility for occasional remote working at the discretion of the management team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and evolve Maritime system architecture ensuring it meets user needs and system requirements.
  • Ensure architectural approach for Maritime Systems integrates with overall programme enterprise architecture
  • Prepare design impact assessments (customer or Boeing trade off driven) for Maritime Systems product & services.
  • Create and maintain Maritime design baselines. Present Maritime system designs at Joint Solution Coherence Reviews
  • Support development of Verification (system) and Validation (user) test plans for Maritime Systems
  • Generate and maintain Maritime design baselines
